Watch Full MessageWelcome to the Dilworth Church of God. We hope our website will instill a desire in your heart to come and visit during one of our live services, where you'll experience anointed praise and worship led by our Director of Music, Marie Kimberly and the Fresh Fire Choir.
The Word of God comes to life as Pastor Kimberly leads you through practical, timeless truths with insight, humor, clarity and understanding. We are delighted you've found us — and we hope to see you in person soon.
The purpose of the Dilworth Church of God is to impact our community and our world with the life-changing message of hope in Jesus Christ.
We are a warm, welcoming place open to anyone seeking a deeper relationship with God — where you can find healing from the struggles of life and become part of a ministry reaching those who are hurting, hungry, and in need of hope.
"The Dilworth Church is a family of believers committed to sharing the hope we have in Jesus Christ, encouraging one another in love, and helping people develop a closer relationship with God."
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible as the authoritative Word of God.
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, and that holiness is God's standard of living for His people.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance being the initial evidence.
We believe in the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus — to resurrect the righteous and reign on earth a thousand years.
Founded by our congregation in 2004, the House of Refuge Food Bank has ministered to over 180,000 clients in the Dilworth, Empire, and Sumiton area. It's one expression of our belief that faith and action go hand in hand.
Ordained Bishop · Senior Pastor · Dilworth Church of God
Pastor Nelson and Marie Kimberly have led the Dilworth Church of God for over 23 years. An Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Pastor Kimberly has pastored and evangelized throughout Alabama for over 45 years, and has also done mission work in Honduras. He and Marie graduated the Church of God Ministerial Internship Program in 1983 and have served as Supervising Pastors for 35 years, mentoring interns entering the ministry.
Marie serves as the church's Music Director, Secretary, and Treasurer, and is a board member of the Women's Ministry. A licensed nurse who graduated from Central Alabama State College in 1980, she left the nursing field in 1995 to join her husband full time in ministry. Together, they are Board-Certified teachers in the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum and have been married for 45 years.
Their son Andrew and his wife Ashley serve as Athletic Directors for the church. Pastor and Sis. Kimberly love this congregation deeply — and they believe the best is still yet to come.
From preschool through 6th grade, every child who walks through our doors is known, loved, and learning. Here's exactly where your child will be.
We have a dedicated nursery room available for parents with infants and toddlers. While we are currently recruiting nursery volunteers, the space is available — just let a greeter know when you arrive.
Interested in volunteering? We'd love to have you.
Children begin in Little Learners (ages 3–5), then move into Dilworth Kids (ages 6–12). At 13, they step up into Impact Youth — a natural, supported transition so no child ever falls through the cracks.
